The LEVEL II intermediate session is primarily focused on the further development of each student’s fabrication and soldering ability. This involves manipulating larger areas of metal, managing longer solder seams, and a multi-tiered “order of operations” approach that the more complex intermediate level projects entail.

The technical content at this level of instruction comes through creating containers, boxes, small vessels, and finally locket forms, including the creation of hinges and clasps.

As with the LEVEL I curriculum, LEVEL II Demonstrations are provided through conventionally formatted exercises, which each student then practices. Once the technical objective of the exercise has been accomplished, students are strongly encouraged to apply their newly earned skills to SELF-ORIGINATED DESIGN CONCEPTS. This is when things begin to get really interesting, with each student exploring the creative problem solving that novel forms necessitate. In this way, each students benefits not only their own creative explorations, but those of their fellow students as well.
